HERDADE DO ESPORÃO - Wine Tasting Dinner - 15.05.15
Last May 15th, the restaurant and Herdade do Esporão got back together, this time for a special celebration: the 20th Wine Tasting Dinner at Quinta da Ria.
Chef Humberto Paulos, the person in charge of the preparation of all event's menus, delighted the guests with a superb choice that included an Amouse Bouche, Chicken wings, Sardines with breadcrumbs, Sautéed game smoked sausage and Anchovy fillets. The starter Octopus ? Lagareiro? style with spinach & corn bread, preceded the much appreciated Tuna "Algarve" style, roasted fresh potatoes & perfumed with coriander, followed by Kid stew "Ridge style", chickpeas pudding & baby carrot. The menu finished with the "Algarve symphony" of fig, almond & carob, a dessert based on regional flavours.
Herdade do Esporão Verdelho, one of the wines served on this dinner, recently received the Prize for the Best Wine 2015.
The music of the evening was in charge of the project Amar Guitarra, a dialogue between the acoustic guitar and the Portuguese guitar, which charmed the ambience and was much applauded throughout the night.
